In honor of Ada Lovelace Day 2022, we are celebrating notable women in STEM fields, both from the present day and from throughout history. Enter Mary (Missy) Cummings – who is currently on faculty at the Duke University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as the Department of Computer Science. Last October, President Biden appointed her as a safety advisor to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Her past achievements range from naval fighter pilot to MIT Professor and more. Read more a bout her life and work from her Duke Faculty Bio here.
Happy Ada Lovelace Day! Today, in honor of Ada Lovelace, the world celebrates all of the accomplishments of women in science, art, design, technology, engineering, and math. Each year, Adafruit highlights a number of women who are pioneering their fields and inspiring women of all ages to make their voices heard. Today we will be sharing the stories of women that we think are modern day “Adas” alongside historical women that have made impacts in science and math.
