A Star Trek Lower Decks LCARS display on a Raspberry Pi display #StarTrek #LCARS @TomsHardware @monkeymademe

A beautiful LCARS display of the USS Cerritos from Star Trek Lower Decks graces the website of meWho Rob. This experience has now been ported to a Raspberry Pi with the official display as reported by Tom’s Hardware.

With help by Rob, James has made the port to the Raspberry Pi touch screen.

LCARS is an acronym from the Star Trek universe that stands for Library Computer Access/Retrieval System. The user interface design was created by Michael Okuda a a means to convey a complex computer interfaces, using backlit plastic panels.

The user interface is a Raspberry Pi 3B running the official touch screen, and Chromium browser running in kiosk mode to give it a true LCARS experience.
