It’s so gratifying when you have a question on a material or process, post to social media, and get instant, intelligent answers.
Jorvon Moss (aka Odd Jayy) took to Twitter to ask:
Can anyone recommend me some Acrylic adhesive, I am working with a lot more acrylic with my laser cutter so though I need to start ya know gluing some parts together.
People instantly responded with best adhesive recommendations (Weld On 4 and SCIGRIP 10315 16 Acrylic Plastic Cement) and great resource links.
Folks even offered tips and safety advice:
For example some acry. solvents will also dissolve some plastics, and you do not want that happening to your safety gear and having it bond with skin/face/contacts/etc. fumes + contact lenses == bad things. Get a full safety/emergency kit.
Bare minimum : resistant gloves, resistant goggles, eye wash station , spill kit, vent system, alarm to get help should you need it.
Sometimes, the Internet sucks less.
