Making a Dystopian Cyberpunk Slum for Necromunda #cyberpunk

One of my favorite corners of the Warhammer 40,000 universe is the hive cities of the planet Necromunda. Hive cities are unimaginably huge. Think of the footprint of a modern city here on Earth. Now expand that vertically until it reaches the clouds and that’s what a hive city is like.

These cities are also socially stratified, with the richest, noble houses living in the upper spires of the hive all the way to the freaks, outcasts, gangs, and opportunists that live in the bowels of the city, called the underhive. Each city houses at least a billion people.

In this Eric’s Hobby Workshop, he builds a cyberpunky Necromunda game board and attempts to convey some of the immensity and destitution of an underhive in his finished piece.

The resulting board is amazing.
