We test a tester for the Adafruit OV5640 camera breakout
Parallel-data camera breakouts are common, but we wanted to design a better one for video and image hacking. Details like i2c pullups, built-in 24mhz oscillator, auto-focus motor power supply, and a camera heatsinking power plane! – video.
Many cameras have the same FPC cable and pinout, making them easy to swap in and out. This one is a wide-angle OV5640, but the board will work with OV2640 and others.
An ESP32-S2 Metro is used to grab frames from the camera and blit them to a 1.3″ TFT screen.
