Love ’em or hate ’em, algorithms play a massive role in our digital lives. They remember all of the baby animal content we clicked on in 2018 at 3am on a Thursday in January when we couldn’t sleep, or that month long period at… some point in the pandemic when we were only watching music videos from the late 90s-early 2000s. And now those linked suggestions are no longer serving us, so let’s reset! Fast Company has outlined each step you need to take for resetting recommendations on YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, HULU, HBO Max, Peacock and Paramount+ on both your phone and the web!
You can turn off YouTube recommendations and also delete some or all of your history, as well as set your future viewing history to auto-delete periodically.
If you aren’t ready to wipe out your [Netflix] algorithm, you can still get a fresh start by creating a new, history-free profile.
