Years ago, Adam Savage put forward a concept he calls “first order retrievability.” The idea is to put as much of your shop on casters as possible, and then, when working on a specific project, you roll the carts with your most needed tools close to your work station.
In this video, Adam continues designing his own shop around this concept with a new caster-based cart for his most-often-used tools and a new hammer rack.
