Using a KWeld spot welder

Anyone needing a spot welder, for example in making battery packs, knows that they are rather expensive to buy off the shelf.

Mare & Gal Electronics has written about their experience of buying a KWeld welder kit. It is considerably less expensive, although you have to source the power supply yourself as well as package it up.

They post:

I would like to recommend the Kweld to anyone who wants excelent tool for spot welding without selling the kidney for professional spot welder. At the end the total cost was:

  • 145€ Kweld kit
  • 140€ battery cells
  • 15€ small parts, screws, nuts, cable shoes, …
  • 5€ filament (250g)

About 300 Euros.

“Spot welds are repeatable and consistent.”
