UPDATED GUIDE: How to Add a New Sensor or Component to Adafruit.IO WipperSnapper

You’ve set up an internet-enabled development board with Adafruit IO Wippersnapper. But, after glancing at the component picker, you don’t see the component you need for your IoT project. Let’s get your favorite input, output, or sensor added to Adafruit IO WipperSnapper so it can be used by projects designed by you and others!

We’ve done a major update to this guide to update instructions and make it simpler to build WipperSnapper firmware. The “Adding an I2C Component” section has been rewritten from two sections to four, giving us time to explain setting up a build environment for WipperSnapper with PlatformIO and the required steps to add a new I2C sensor driver.
