A middle school coding challenge for the NASA Artemis II Mission #Space #Education @NASA @NASAArtemis
Just in time for #NationalTechiesDay, NASA has a new @NASAartemis coding challenge for middle school students! Test your coding skills by using block code to design the Artemis II Mission.
The Artemis II Coding Challenge asks students to utilize block code to design the Artemis II mission. Artemis II is scheduled to launch no earlier than November 2024 and is the first crewed mission on NASA’s path to establishing a long-term presence at the Moon for science and exploration through Artemis.
The activity will allow students to learn about the crew members, liftoff into space and splashdown in the Pacific Ocean. To complete this coding challenge, students will need to access a block code platform. In this guide, Code.org’s “App Lab” is used as an example to follow along.
Code.org’s “App Lab” can be accessed through the following link: https://code.org/educate/applab. All resources to complete the app can be found in the file downloaded from the App Development Challenge Website.
See more about the challenge and all the resources for educators on the NASA site here.
Have an amazing project to share? The Electronics Show and Tell is every Wednesday at 7:30pm ET! To join, head over to YouTube and check out the show’s live chat and our Discord!
