An upscaled Spinning Disc Step Sequencer for the Orlando Maker Faire
Jerry Reed recently went to Orlando Maker Faire demonstrating a number of projects:
We built an upscaled version of the Spinning Disc Step Sequencer for the Orlando Maker Faire. It was a great hit with over 100 visitors making their own discs and spinning them on a repurposed record player.
Each track controlled a percussive instrument such as a servo-driven “drum” and even a cymbals cat. Great project from you folks, and wonderful documentation and parts like the CPX to make it possible.
Guests could mark up a paper template and play the resulting rhythm on a repurposed turntable setup. Or they could play the MIDI-controlled Xylophone with visualization as well.
Have an amazing project to share? The Electronics Show and Tell is every Wednesday at 7:30pm ET! To join, head over to YouTube and check out the show’s live chat and our Discord!
