GALACTICA – a general-purpose scientific language AI model
GALACTICA is a general-purpose scientific language model. It is trained on a large corpus of scientific text and data including more than 360 millions in-context citations and over 50 millions of unique references normalized across a diverse set of sources. It can perform scientific NLP tasks at a high level, as well as tasks such as citation prediction, mathematical reasoning, molecular property prediction and protein annotation.
Galactica models are trained on a novel high-quality scientific dataset called NatureBook, making the models capable of working with scientific terminology, math and chemical formulas as well as source codes.
