Making accessory PCBs for a mini Wii console #Upcycling #ReverseEngineering @abzman2000

Evan picked up a stylish Wii mini on a trip to Canada.

This is a cool late era console that simplified things by going with a tray loader instead of a slot load dvd drive mechanism (not the first time Nintendo’s done this). This console has some serious limitations though. No gamecube controller ports. No WiFi or any network connectivity. No reset button. No SD card. No component video. Only one USB port.

Evan states the best information specific to the mini is here. There’s an active Wii mini hacking Discord that contains very knowledgeable people on the current state of things.

Evan set about making some circuit boards to add back Wii functionality. Check out the PCBs fabricated here.
