The ‘House of Energy’ Construction Kit @McuOnEclipse
In April 2023, the ‘Verkehrshaus der Schweiz‘, the ‘Swiss Museum of Transport’ opened up a new building and the ‘Experience Energy!’ exhibition. For the opening event a team created a unique construction kit to explore energy: from harvesting to storing and up to distributing and using energy.
The kit has a number of very interesting features: solar charging, environmental sensors, and a bus that moves along a PCB track through magnetic levitation.
Control is centralized in an RP2040 microcontroller. Energy is stored in a supercapacitor. Various circuits can be powered down if not currently in use.
