LED Wearable Gallery by Dazed

LED Wearable Gallery by Dazed
We are helping to get the word out about the LED Wearable Gallery by Dazed!

New York Fashion Week is typically reserved for big and established brands to showcase fashion. A ticket to attend often costs more than the entire marketing budget for an innovative and creative designer featured on sites like Etsy. The LED Wearable Gallery by Dazed is designed to assist independent designers with launching their brands, focusing on fashion designers who engage in storytelling with fashion utilizing audio-sync technology and LEDs. The LED Wearable Gallery by Dazed is the brainchild of Paul Rock, the founder of the eLEDtric Circus (a variety show integrated with Augmented Reality and LED). Yet, it is part of a group effort of various designers and artists in the LED space.

Designers and artists include:
Sun and Moon Couture, an LA-based designer that makes Bespoke Couture
Janet Hansen of Enlighted Designs has made light-up wearables for Daft Punk, 50 Cent, David Guetta.
Uriel Guy is the creator of the Led Zeppelin art car at Burning Man.
nLITEn, a Canadian LED company that produces flexible LED material designed for athleisure purposes and flow arts. Founded by maker Shannon Hoover, along with Ph.D. student and designer, Sydney Pratte.
Elektra Designs is by Canadian LED flow artist, Elektra.
PlexusPlay is a Los Angeles-based musician and neurotechnologist that integrates music visualization technology with fashion.
Paul Rock, the founder of eLEDtric Circus, is a light and projection artist.

The event is hosted at a women-owned startup incubator and co-working space in New York, Work’n’Roll. Collaborating with Make magazine as a media partner serves as a bridge. Unlike the fashion industry, the technology industry is dominated by men and lacks diversity. Often, creatives are intimated by technology. While technology professionals lack interest in fashion. Fashion-tech is the way to bring these two “opposite” fields together.

Integrating fashion with tech can bring new understanding about technology having a creative purpose with fashion. As a way to help entrepreneurial-minded creatives, there will be an LED runway show featuring independent designers, presentations from industry leaders, networking events, musical performances, and parties. All within a period of 4 days, from February 8th to February 11th.
