NEW GUIDE: How to use Blockly for Actions on Adafruit IO #AdafruitLearningSystem @Adafruit

An Action configured using Blockly on Adafruit IO, depicting a button triggering a buzzer.

This guide introduces the integration of Blockly diagram-based actions into the Adafruit IO platform, enhancing the user interface for creating dynamically triggered IoT actions without the need for extensive coding. It provides a detailed walkthrough of using the Blockly workspace, including how to add and configure blocks, use the Category Toolbox, and understand the context menus and block types specific to Adafruit IO.

While you can build just about any kind of IoT device or project with Adafruit IO’s feed dashboard functionality, you can add a little more logic and integration using Actions. In Adafruit IO, Actions are a way to do something when a certain situation occurs. We’ve built a custom Blockly App to allow easy creation and editing of Actions on Adafruit IO.

Whether you’ve used Actions before or not, this guide will get you up to speed using Blockly Actions to power up your Adafruit IO Project!
