Nola Hylton, PhD is a pioneer in the usage of magnetic resonance imaging for the detection, diagnosis, and staging of breast cancer. Dr. Hylton is a professor at UCSF Radiology and director of the Breast Imaging Research Group. She was also inducted into the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) as part of their 2022 class.
Dr. Hylton is a professor at UCSF Radiology and director of the Breast Imaging Research Group. Dr. Hylton’s impressive accomplishments include being an internationally known leader and recognized authority in the field of breast MRI for over 20 years. Election of new NAE members is the culmination of a yearlong process. A ballot is set in December with the final vote for membership during January. Dr. Hylton was elected to the NAE based on the following:
“For engineering development and leadership in breast cancer MRI and multicenter national trials, improving the health of millions of women.”
