Diving into the Philips PM5644 pattern generator #Video #Broadcast
Matt’s Tech Pages took a look at the Philips PM5631 and PM5644 video pattern generators. Such were used to broadcast a pattern when a broadcast TV station was “off the air”, re. not broadcasting regular programming (even though the test pattern was showing them broadcasting “on air”).
These particular units were introduced to the broadcaster market around 1987/8.
