Live Chiptune Jam on a Elektron Analog Rytm #MusicMonday
You don’t have to be a Super Mario Bros. fan to love chiptune music. The blip blip and bloop bloop of 8-bit tunes kindles a playful spirit even in those who were not raised on early home video systems. Here’s tubesockor with a playful live jam on the Analog Rytm drum machine:
A remake of TDK’s “Space Duregungle (8bit mix)” from 1996, on the Elektron Analog Rytm MkII with live melody playing on top of sequencer tracks. The SY CHIP engine of OS 1.70 was used for all melodic & drum sounds on Channels 1-3 (TRK 1-4), with a few additional sounds on other channels (analog hats & cymbals, sampled BD ACOUSTIC kick etc). All recorded live in one go, direct from the main outputs – no compression or EQ applied.
