Adafruit forums user vJoeG has built a 3D printed Epcot SpaceShip Earth model.
So I took quite a bit of downtime since first starting this project but picked it back up recently.
My biggest struggle was with the LED lights so I decided to pick up four new strings and to my surprise they were built a little different than the originals.
This turned out to be a good thing because cutting and rewiring them was so much easier, and all of the lights worked the first time.
Hot gluing all 156 of them to the model is definitely a labor of love and I have a few blisters to show for it. #BattleScars
The LEDs appear to be driven from an Adafruit QT Py microcontroller.
