Adafruit Learning System Update: 3000+ Guides!

Adafruit Playground

With the new Adafruit Playground, now our community has a super easy place to share what they built or are currently working on. The goal of Adafruit Playground was to make it as simple as possible to share your projects with fellow makers. On the Adafruit Learning System we call each project a guide, as they typically have multiple pages, and guides are usually quite time consuming to complete. On Adafruit Playground, we call them notes. There is only one page per note, and you can share a paragraph, or document a really complex project quickly with easy to use elements (like the FAQ element, code element, embed element, and more).

Once you are happy with your note, you can share it with the world and have it featured right on the main Playground landing page. Earn badges by joining our weekly live show & tell, or by catching the eye of someone at Adafruit. More badges coming soon!

We also recently added in reactions, so now you can let the author know you appreciated them sharing their knowledge.

We have a lot of fun ideas coming soon to The Playground. I hope you will all check out one of the over 140 notes already shown off, or share what you have been working on with our awesome community!

Explore over 3000 guides on the Adafruit Learning System

Wow, we have come a long way since we started ALS over 12 years ago. There have been a lot of amazing guides that have been published throughout the years. Not too long ago I started doing a deep dive into old guides that have gotten lost over the years and decided to make a new special section of hand curated guides.

I regularly update all of these fun categories to make sure they are all up to date, and also add new groups when I discover a fun guide lost to time. Check back to the Explore page regularly for some maker inspiration.

Oh! And if you are looking to really explore the depths of the Adafruit Learning System, try clicking the pair of dice in the top nav. This will randomly send you to any of the 3000+ guides!

Coming soon! A better way to read guides.

We are constantly evolving the Adafruit Learning System to make it as good as it can possibly be to read about your favorite projects. We are currently in the process of dropping the right sidebar and significantly increasing the width of the main content to give guides more room to breathe. We also have some great updates to current guide elements to help make them more accessible and easy to read.

And for those of you who hate reading black text on a white background….we might have an update coming that you are really going to like. 😉
