If you’ve only seen TRON: Legacy, and you dig early computer graphics, fables, Jeff Bridges, 80’s nostalgia, fun adventure stories, then check out the original movie TRON from 1982. Some movies can only exist at a certain point in time, and TRON is one of them. The plot has the simplicty of children’s adventure stories, and we mean that in the most complimentary way. TRON is a classic for a reason. Nine Inch Nails is also an 80’s classic. Their 1989 album Pretty Hate Machine brought many kids into dark places in the healthiest possible fashion. Now NIN and TRON are coming together. Daft Punk’s soundtrack is probably the best thing about TRON. Let’s hope NIN goes as far with their soundtrack for the upcoming TRON: Ares. Here’s more from Synthopia:
At D23 – ‘the ultimate Disney fan event – the cast of Tron: Ares came on stage to share a brief look at the film, and revealed that Nine Inch Nails is doing the soundtrack.
NIN’s Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have scored many films under their own names in recent years, including Academy Award-winning scores to The Social Network & Soul. As Nine Inch Nails, their biggest soundtrack has been their classic score for the video game Quake.
