“Prepare for trouble.. and make it double!”
Fancy new dual-sided NeoPixel strips are a great alternative for folks who have loved and used Adafruit LED strips for a few years but want gorgeous, glowy light from both sides! These are very similar to our Dual Edge Side-Light NeoPixel LED Strip but are much slimmer, with a side-light NeoPixel emitting both left and right at the same time.
You can run them along a thin edge and curve them around shapes and corners. These look awesome for accent lighting, backlighting, edge lighting, etc!
The strip is constructed of flexible white PCB material with weather-proof sheathing. You can cut this stuff pretty easily with wire cutters. There is a cut line halfway down the strip. Solder to the 0.1″ copper pads, and you’re good to go! Of course, you can also connect strips together to make them longer; just watch how much current you need!
You’ll get 1 meter long strip with JST SM 3 pin connectors at both ends. Provide 5V on the power pins, and provide your standard issue NeoPixel (WS281x) data on the third pin – don’t forget to share the ground pin between the 5V power supply and your microcontroller. Boom – you’re glowin’ in style.
Adafruit publishes a wide range of writing and video content, including interviews and reporting on the maker market and the wider technology world. Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
