The 3rd annual Space Gala, hosted by Reinvented Magazine, was held November 9th at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor’s Complex in Florida. The Rocket Garden hosted over 150 people, a majority of whom are young ladies and women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). The event raises funds for STEM scholarships and this year’s recipients were announced.
Maker Xyla Foxlin was the Emcee at this year’s event and there were a dozen special guests known to social media in attendance.
Reinvented hosts Princesses with Powertools events to help young girls become familiar with powertools and in believing that STEM is a career worth persuing. Reinvented also publishes Reinvented Magazine, which is distributed to showcase women in STEM. Adafruit founder Limor Fried (left cover) was one featured STEM role model.
Adafruit engineer Anne Barela (right) attended (wearing an Adabot pin) with her spouse Amy Lendian (left), a Systems Engineering Manager at Kennedy Space Center supporting the Artemis moon program. It was fun to discuss STEM with other women, as each person has their own story and focus. One was Space Communicator Astro Alexandra (center).
Reinvented CEO Caeley Looney (center, below) created a fabulous event to honor and support Women in STEM.
