We’re back with yet another stepper driver breakout; this time, the Trinamic TMC2130. Remember we started with the ‘classic’ A4988, then upgraded to the ‘uart capable + diagnostic output’ TMC2209, now we have the SPI-controllable TMC2130. You can use either stand-alone mode or SPI mode. For stand-alone, we break out the extra configuration and debug pins if you need them. In SPI controllable mode, the config pins are used instead to communicate with a microcontroller/microcomputer for precision configuration, so a library will be needed. We had to extend the board a tad for the extra pads but kept everything like the step/direction LEDs and the easy-to-use current set potentiometer.
