WHASER – sponsored by Mouser, powered by Adafruit at Hackaday (io bits newsletter)
Mouser recently sponsored a project in the Hackaday newsletter (I think!) I cannot find it on the Hackaday site or hackaday.io, only the HACKADAY.IO BITS Wednesday, February 12, 2025 newsletter which links to this video – (video). This is the first time we recall seeing Mouser sponsor a Hackaday newsletter project. There are no files (yet) – but they _do_ mention that it will be open-sourced; we couldn’t find any files; however, we will update this post once/if they are published. That said! One can spot the Adafruit logo of our breakouts in the video and photos! We’re always glad to see projects and conservation efforts that can do the job with our open-source designs! Often, some projects claim to be open-source or use “Arduino” but end up being Adafruit boards and code, so we’re interested in this and want to check out the published open-source files, etc. if they are published.
Will keep checking hackaday.io and will update post once there is more info! Disclosure, I founded Hackaday (but have nothing to do with it now) and like to see how they’re taking care of things with sponsors, open-source, community, and editorial / open-source – and of course, seeing Adafruit stuff in sponsored projects from Mouser with Hackaday is interesting, more so when it’s in Iceland to advance whale conservation.
Have an amazing project to share? The Electronics Show and Tell is every Wednesday at 7:30pm ET! To join, head over to YouTube and check out the show’s live chat and our Discord!
