Game Developer Starter Pack #1 – Start your Game Dev Journey!
Here are a few tools you can use to start your indie game developer journey! First up, Aseprite.
Aseprite is a program for creating animated sprites.
Its main features include that sprites consist of layers and frames as separate concepts and the ability to import animations to and from sprite sheets, GIF files, or sequences of PNG files (as well as FLC, FLI, JPG, BMP, PCX, and TGA). It also provides many more features. Check out https://www.aseprite.org/
Next up, itch.io!
itch.io is a great source of free and paid game assets – think of it as a treasure trove of game assets. One downside to this is finding assets that match together and with what you need. If you dont have the time to learn about constructing assets for your game, itch.io might be the best thing you could find. Check out https://itch.io/
Last but not least, AIFreeBox.com
AIFreeBox is a platform dedicated to making advanced AI tools freely accessible to everyone. You can choose from various AI generators for music, scripts, tilemaps, etc. Check out https://aifreebox.com/
Stay tuned for more game development tools and assets!
