MakeCode Arcade 2025 Update

Microsoft’s MakeCode Arcade — the beginner-friendly, block-based game development platform — just got a huge update.

Along with over 800 issues fixed, there are some major feature updates including:

  • Blockly update
  • Version history
  • Themes and Accessibility improvements (dark mode shown above!)
  • Editor Tour
  • Increased language support (Arabic, Dutch, Irish, Italian, and Korean have been added)
  • Blocks Copy/Paste between games
  • Keyboard input during on-screen testing
  • Open in Visual Studio Code Online
