One of the best parts of living in the city, particularly around this time of year when spring is slowly waking up, is walking around outside and keeping your eyes on what the plants are doing. Depending on where you are you can catch flowers beginning to bud or a cluster of crocuses already blooming. As the season progresses and the trees begin to sprout their leaves, you might start to remember which trees along your path flower. Most of these flowers smell great and are a welcome addition to day to day life, however, there’s always the one stinky tree that catches you off guard. There’s where this tree map comes in handy. Or you know you could just use the tree map to identify which trees you always see and find out about recent tree care activities ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
For the first time, you can access information about all the trees individually managed by NYC Parks in New York City, from those lining streets to the ones growing in landscaped areas of parks. Learn about them, favorite and share them with your friends, and record and share your street tree stewardship activities.
