Yes, this is real. Apparently Little Tikes, known for their kid oriented plastics, teamed up with IBM themselves to come up with a computer learning center. For “only $2,599”, it came with an IBM Think Centre computer, a colorful keyboard and education software, bundled into a plastic play station.
The PC had WinXP, an internal DVD-ROM, 256K-1GB RAM, 40-160GB hard drive, 10/100 Ethernet, a sound card, two external speakers and a surge protector built in. It came preloaded with software such as: Millie’s Math House; Sammy’s Science House; Bailey’s Book House; Trudy’s Time and Place; and Thinkin’ Things – New Atlas article.
